The City of Onalaska is working towards a “Butterfly City” designation, and one of the criteria they must meet is to have a butterfly art project. 100 metal butterflies were painted by local citizens and put up around the city for the month of August. Each artist created a colorful butterfly and received it back for their yards on Labor Day.
