“First Steps” is an endearing sculpture by Washington State artist Christina Demetro. The piece beautifully captures a tender moment between a mother and her young child as he takes his very first steps.

The Lyche Family and the OAK Group, with guidance from the City of Onalaska, felt this sculpture would be a wonderful addition near the entrance to the new Dash Center on Quincy Street. Its heartwarming message makes it especially fitting for a place where families and the community will gather.
